Thursday, November 13th at 7 pm: Author Kate Braestrup speaks about her book, her work, and answers questions. NH Humanities Council Humanist Marcia Blaine will facilitate a discussion after the author’s presentation. Refreshments served after the program. At the Lutheran Church of the Nativity in North Conway, NH, on the corner of Main and Grove Streets. Parking is available on the street, in the TD Banknorth parking lot a short distance north of the church, or in the adjoining municipal parking lot.

Search and Rescue in New Hampshire’s Forests, NH Fish & Game Conservation Officer Brian Abrams (Madison and Bartlett programs) or Brad Morse (Tamworth) will present a slideshow and talk on how search and rescue works in New Hampshire, from descriptions of actual rescues to a discussion of NH’s unique policy of cooperating with volunteer organizations for search and rescue missions. Widows in 18th Century New England, Plymouth State History professor Marcia Blaine will depict the challenges widows faced in New England’s past. A NH Humanities Council Program.
