Our Big Event

All are invited to an evening with Morgan Talty in conversation with Laura Knoy, Thursday, October 27 at 7:00 p.m. at the Majestic Theatre in Conway Village. The in-person event will be free and open to the public.

This event will also be live-streamed. To register for the livestream link, go to rentals.anywhereseat.com. There is no charge for the livestream, but there is a way to make a donation if you wish to support future One Book One Valley programs.

If you arrive early, you can enjoy a drink from the cash bar in the Majestic Cafe from 6:00-7:00 p.m.

After the event, there will books for sale and signing in the Majestic Cafe hosted by White Birch Books.

Pre-event fundraiser: Meet the author – CANCELLED

At 5:00 p.m., prior to his interview and discussion at the Majestic Theater, meet Night of the Living Rez author Morgan Talty down the street at the Conway Public Library. Soup, salad, sandwiches, and snacks will be served. Laura Knoy, who will be interviewing Morgan, is also expected to attend. This is a fundraiser for One Book One Valley. Digging Into Native History in New Hampshire, a New Hampshire Humanities presentation by Dr. Robert Goodby, Tuesday, September 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Bartlett Public Library.

Walker Between Worlds: Indigenous Native American Legends with Leland Faulkner, Native American storyteller, Saturday, October 1 at 3:00 p.m. on the lawn at the Jackson Public Library. Raindate is October 15 at 3:00 p.m. Cosponsored by Jackson Public Library, Bartlett Public Library, and Pope Memorial Library.

Night of Living in Recovery, Wednesday, October 5, 6:30 p.m.: WATCH the recording at https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=436354948582811. An online panel discussion hosted by Carroll County Coalition for Public Health on how our community is facing and responding to substance use, mental health and poverty and what the local resources are in our rural communities. Catalina Kirsch, C3PH’s continuum of care facilitator will be joined by Eric Moran, peer resource director at White Horse Recovery, and others to talk about the factors involved and how they are being addressed. Cosponsored by Cook Memorial Library and Madison Library.

Book discussions

Most of the participating libraries and White Birch Books will hold a discussion of Night of the Living Rez. Some discussions will be in-person, others will be virtual, and some will be a combination of the two! See our events calendar to find one near you.

    I heard that the author Amy Belding Brown was actually coming to speak on November 7th, NOT October 30th?!?
