I loved this book! I moved out of New England several years ago, and “Go With Me” brought me right back. Mr. Freeman is truly a master of dialogue. The whole thing was extremely evocative, and I felt I could see and hear the people, places, and events.
My absolute favorite thing about the book was the mix of truly authentic and evocative dialogue with an almost lyrical style. Overall it reminded me of some of the classic Greek dramas, with the action interspersed with the ‘chorus’ of men in the sawmill. Somehow, the dialect I can recognize in an instant melded seamlessly with the classic and time-honored format of an ancient morality play.
Literary criticism aside, I also thoroughly enjoyed the story! Thank you for choosing this book, I’m grateful that I had a chance to participate!
