One Book One Valley will hold its big event for 2016, a talk by author Michael Tougias, on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Loynd Auditorium at Kennett High School. This event is free and open to the public.
This fall, people throughout the Mount Washington Valley and surrounding towns have been reading and discussing the book The Finest Hours: The True Story of the U.S. Coast Guard’s Most Daring Sea Rescue by Michael Tougias and Casey Sherman. On October 27, author Michael Tougias will speak about two shipwrecked tankers and the heroic rescues that took place during a single nor’easter storm off of Cape Cod in the winter of 1952. There will be time for questions and a book signing after the talk.
Kennett High School is located at 409 Eagles Way (off of route 302) in North Conway. The entrance to the Loynd Auditorium is located at the rear of the school.
Note: The event with author Casey Sherman scheduled for November 3 at Salyards Center for the Arts has been cancelled due to last-minute and unavoidable scheduling conflicts.
