Thank you to Ty Gagne for a wonderful presentation, and to all of our readers from the valley and beyond.
Black Cap Grille in North Conway has generously offered to donate 10% of each participating dining party’s check on Thursday, October 25 to One Book One Valley, the same evening as Ty Gagne’s talk at Kennett High School. Serving begins at 5:00 pm, and reservations are not accepted.
If you aren’t planning on dining out, but wish to contribute to this program, donations will be gratefully accepted by the Friends of Conway Public Library, the not-for-profit 501(c)3 fiscal agent for One Book One Valley.
As readers of Where You’ll Find Me know, the search and rescue mission described in the book highlights the critical need for trained volunteers and professionals to manage these complex and challenging rescues. Ty Gagne, author of this year’s book, has asked that his speaking fee be donated to Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) and the Androscoggin Valley Search & Rescue (ASVAR). For readers who wish to support the MRS or ASVAR personally, there will be a donation jar at Gagne’s talk at Kennett High School on October 25th. Tax deductible donations to either organization can mailed or sent online using information posted on their websites: http://www.nhmrs.org/donations/ and https://avsarnh.org/donations/
New Hampshire Fish & Game supports its rescue-related expenses with the sale of Hike Safe cards. You can purchase one at https://wildlife.state.nh.us/safe/
