This year’s author and book have been chosen, but we’d like to keep you in suspense a bit longer while we iron out the details and begin to plan programs and events.

But, we will give a hint: 2010’s book is a crime novel. One look at weekly bestseller lists shows that crime novels are one of the most read genres of fiction. Why? Escapism, fascination with the forbidden, resonance of good vs. evil theme? Let’s read and talk about it together this fall.

Do you love community reads? Consider joining in the Big Read NH program in March 2010–reading groups around the state, including several One Book, One Valley libraries and bookstore, will be reading and discussing “To Kill a Mockingbird.”
