Thanks for another great program

Writer Paul Doiron gave a great talk on October 28, 2021 with a wonderful surprise for readers who love his Mike Bowditch mystery series.

Thanks to all who came in-person and online. All together, about 160 people attended the event.

If you attended either in-person or online, please fill out our survey to help us plan for next year.

If you missed this special evening, good news: there’s a recording!

Thank you!

What a great turnout! About 200 people attended the 2018 One Book One Valley finale on October 25.  We raised $950 for the Mountain Rescue Service and Androscoggin Valley Search and Rescue.

Thank you to Ty Gagne for a wonderful presentation, and to all of our readers from the valley and beyond.

Wonderful evening for our 12th annual program

Monica Wood at Kennett 10.26.17Thank you to everyone who came out on October 26, a dark and rainy night, for Monica Wood’s talk and Q&A about The One-in-a-Million Boy. What a warm and engaging speaker! Monica told us that failure is the reason the book got set aside initially, and how that same failure resulted in the freeing decision to expand her writing to memoir (We Were the Kennedys) and playwriting (Papermaker). Thanks to the encouragement of her “forbearing” husband, Monica found that coming back to this book after those other writing experiences made all the difference, and resulted in the book we all enjoyed. At the end of the evening, she shared a very entertaining slideshow of covers from international editions of The One-in-a-Million Boy.
